Where Can I Ride?
Welcome to Hawke's Bay - a thriving region that is home to some of New Zealands best wineries, stunning landscapes and Napier, the worlds art deco capital. And the best part about Hawke's Bay? The fantastic cycle trails that will get you to virtually any landmark, attraction or winery in the region.
So where should you ride? You are spoilt for choice, all thanks to our 200km cycle trail network. It's all flat, which makes the riding easy, and the majority of the trails are on dedicated cycle paths - which means no traffic!
Whether you have an hour to spare, the whole day or more, we have options for you. Check out below some of our recommended rides.
Mission Scenic Loop
Trail Alert - Ahuriri Estuary Bridge underpass is closed until the end of February. Please contact us for detour options.
A 38km scenic loop that has it all. First, enjoy a coastal ride, then head along the Tutaekuri River and into Taradale. You can visit Church Road Winery and Mission Estate Winery and then head through the estuary and wetlands and return to us through historic Ahuriri busy with cafes, galleries and restaurants, or do this in reverse! Most people take 4 hours to complete this ride. Allow extra time if you wish to visit wineries.
Of course these are just suggested rides, there are a lot of trails to explore! You can download our trail map here to see for yourself:

You can also download the Great Rides App here. This app is New Zealand's best guide and tracking app, with all of the New Zealand trails mapped on it. Once you have downloaded a trail, it can work offline, meaning you can see your location in relation to the trail at all times.
